TOWhen patients with severe airway problems are mentioned, patients with respiratory distress in addition to nasal congestion and sleep problems should come to mind. These patients are mostly patients with anatomical or functional stenosis in the larynx and windpipe (trachea) due to any reason.

The airway surgeon's role is to accurately locate and treat the disorder in these patients. Treatment can be performed with techniques such as intraoral laser and balloon expansion, but it may also require open surgical techniques. It is important for the surgeon to master all these approaches. Especially when the applications performed only with laser and balloon techniques are insufficient and incorrect, they can cause stenosis to increase and treatment success to decrease.

Physicians who have experience in ear, nose, throat and thoracic surgery, especially in airway problems, can treat these problems. Adult patients with airway problems must consult a physician with experience in airway surgery.
